Just like the first gift you open
That you disregard and discard
So forgotten it was nearly included
In the wrapping remnants left on the floor
I find myself curdling in fetal position
On the same floor waiting to be thrown away

Feeling so inconsequential
Even the refuse crew
Didn’t notice me when
I’m right here
Just like a flower blooming just
Before the first autumnal freeze
You don’t notice, much less appreciate it
Even though it’s right there in front of you
It’s wasting away having wasted so much time
A waste of potential gone and thrown away

Even my whole world now
Didn’t notice me when
