"I Believed In..."

When will I start thinking with my head
Instead of what’s inside of my pants
I found myself in a strangers bed
I think the last time was my last chance

So what’s wrong with me
Why do I keep doing this

I believed in monogamy
But I make myself a liar
And nobody likes a liar
I guess they all hate me

I couldn’t help myself my mistake
But what’s a mistake with no regret
I will not love my life as a fake
So there it is I’ll have no regret

Do I make you see
I just can’t go on like this

I believed in monogamy
But I make myself a liar
And nobody likes a liar
I guess they all hate me
I believe in sacred things
But I’ve forsaken everything
I guess I’ll give up everything
I don’t understand me

So what’s wrong with me
Why do I keep doing this
I believed… I believed…
But I lost my faith
Do I make you see
I just can’t go on like this
I believed… I believed…
But I lost my faith

I believed in monogamy
But I make myself a liar
And nobody likes a liar
I guess they all hate me
I believe in sacred things
But I’ve forsaken everything
I guess I’ll give up everything
I don’t understand me
I believed in a forever
We were us in the here and now
But you couldn’t figure out how
To promise you to me

I believed… I believed
But I lost my faith
You couldn’t fulfill me
Make me feel like I was the one
I needed to be the one
I still need to be the one

"Sister"

You are all I’ve ever known
And I love you just the same
I don’t know If I’ve ever known
Anything greater anything better

I can’t think of a time
That I didn’t know you
You were my childhood
Every early memory
And now we’re grown we are
Growing further apart
Here in adulthood
I just don’t know who you are

Can we duplicate
That time
I still consider you
My best friend

You are all I’ve ever known
And I love you just the same
I don’t’ know if I’ve ever known
Anything greater anything better

Where did it all go wrong
When did we drift apart
You were the sister
I never had and now
I long to know you now
And we’ve missed so much time
Just to make it up
Would be gratifying

Can we return to
That time
I still consider you
My best friend

You are all I’ve ever known
And I love you just the same
I don’t’ know if I’ve ever known
Anything greater anything better

Please be mine, my sister
Please be mine, understand
I need you, my sister
I need you, understand…

"Sin"

Is there something wrong with me?
I should be happy… I know I’m happy
I don’t want for anything
But it’s not enough
I felt your touch and I want more
Why do I feel like this?

I love the thrill
I like the chase
But I hate feeling like this

It’s a sin to want you
I’ve been committed but I want more
He isn’t giving me what I need
Won’t you give me more?

I can’t escape the feeling
That I felt with you… when you touched me then
I just can’t help this feeling
It’s just human nature
To crave more after just one touch
So what’s wrong with me now?

I want a thrill
I need your chase
But I hate feeling like this

It’s a sin to want you
I’ve been committed but I want more
He isn’t giving me what I need
Won’t you give me more?

"Peep Hole"

I watch them kissing
Delicately sensually
He reaches into her blouse
Her head tilts in forced pleasure
Then something goes awry
Is that fear that’s in her eyes

Who is she, who is he?
I don’t know; should I care?
I keep watching through the peep hole
Watching a train wreck in slow motion

I watch him hit her
Brutally and senselessly
He strikes again and then
She reaches down for her bag
When he goes in again
Her bullet then finds his head

Who is she, who was he?
I don’t know; should I call?
I keep watching through the peep hole
Watching a train wreck in slow motion

As he falls she cries
Relentlessly with relief
Was he a John that went bad,
an abusive lover gone?
As she picks up her phone
Will there be guilt in her voice?

Why did she, who was he?
Should I care?  Watch the show!
I keep watching through the peep hole
Watching a train wreck in slow motion

"On The Dance Floor"

I met you somewhere else
You were cute but I wasn’t impressed
Even a few drinks couldn’t change
You were just okay

But then you started dancing
I found myself with you
Moving to the music
But then we started dancing
I felt your skin touch mine
Holding me too close

On the dancefloor you got me hooked
Like a melody it felt like ecstasy
On the dancefloor you got me hooked
Oh baby you had me wanting more

Now you’re stuck in my head
You won’t leave so now am I obsessed
I’m thinking what would have happened
If you didn’t leave

But you did get my number
You want to dance again
Moving to the music
And now we’ve started talking
I want your touch again
Holding me too close

On the dancefloor you got me hooked
Like a melody it felt like ecstasy
On the dancefloor you got me hooked
Oh baby you had me wanting more

"Without Reciprocation"

I was the one that you turned to
When the world had you down
You needed a shoulder to cry on
And now that it’s all said and done
You abandoned me
I defended your case for days
When no one believed you
You took everything I gave to you
And when it came to helping me
You abandoned me

I should have known
I would give you everything
Without reciprocation
It was easy
To take everything I gave
Without reciprocation

It was when you were down and out
I was there with a hand
To help dig you out of depression
It was just the right thing to do
You don’t feel the same
I took a chance here helping you
I felt that it was right
I just knew you’d be there for me
But in hindsight I can now say
You don’t feel the same

I should have known
I would give you everything
Without reciprocation
It was easy
To take everything I gave
Without reciprocation

I guess I didn’t know you well enough
To believe you’d take and take
And not be there for me when I was down
I should have listened to someone who knew you
I was warned and now I’m scorned
So shame on me for being so naive

I should have known
I would give you everything
Without reciprocation
It was easy
To take everything I gave
Without reciprocation

"This House"

I came home
To an empty house
Without you here
It doesn’t feel the same
Here I am
In an empty space
All by myself
Why aren’t you here with me

I find myself looking for you
Reaching for your pillow
Looking for your face

This house
Isn’t a home
Without you here
I need you
This house
Isn’t a home
Without you here
I’m lonely

Lonely nights
Are all that I face
The silence grows
Without your TV shows
I try to
fill this empty void
here in my heart
that just won’t be the same

I find myself looking for love
Needing that emotion
It just won’t replace
I find myself looking for you
Reaching for your pillow
Looking for your face

This house
Isn’t a home
Without you here
I need you
This house
Isn’t a home
Without you here
I’m lonely
