Awaiting The Dawn

Flickering lights
A swollen face
No one knows
How he got here
Those secret fights
Just for a chase
With no shows
What is this fear

You look away but it’s okay
So do I
When I look in the mirror
It’s fine I’ll live another day
So then why
Cry looking in the mirror

Those times where hard but are gone
I’m not that man any more
I saw it throughout it all
I’m here awaiting the dawn

Songs of the birds
Light is in view
Who is he
In my eyesight
He says my words
What do I do
Why is he
Filled with such might

He seems so familiar to see
Is he I?
If I do not look backwards
I want that future just for me
No more lies.
If I do not look backwards

Those times where hard but are gone
I’m not that man any more
I saw it throughout it all
I’m here awaiting the dawn

You found me in the sunlight
Betrayed me midday
And by dusk you ran off
I wandered time with no sight
With no voice to say
You don’t care about loss

Those times where hard but are gone
I’m not that man any more
I saw it throughout it all
I’m here awaiting the dawn
