The Abyss
Just who am I anymore
A wasted opportunity
Rusting remains in the rain
My basic needs forgotten
All I ever wanted from anyone
Was to receive and feel their love
But now all I ever pray for is a
Sweet release into the abyss.
Where light fades into dark
Where this becomes nothing
Where sound echoes silent
The abyss beacons me away from you
Despite my melancholy
I know this isn’t usual
No chemical imbalance
Can explain you draining me
Somehow you always say and do things wrong
Making me ask what’s wrong with me
I know the truth but it doesn't stop me
From jumping into the abyss
Where dreams awaken gone
Where we are you and I
Where love hates what it is
The abyss tries to shelter me from pain
Because you lack the ability to find
Happiness in any real way
You somehow manage to drain any joy
When just the thought of you approaching me
When I hear your name, or I see your face
I retreat into the abyss
Where nothing is abound
Where substance is null
Where truth contains no proof
The abyss comforts and envelopes me
Where dreams awaken gone
Where we are you and I
Where love hates what it is
