Old Lexington Road

On old Lexington road
Did someone rape you
Take your innocence from you
There are rumors

About all of you
I’ve heard them all

Grown ups pointing fingers
The wrong people behind bars
If I knew you now like I knew you then
You’d know and be afraid.

On Old Lexington Road
Did you lose your mind
Make you want to run away
From what they say.

All about you
I’ve heard them all

A church just down the street
Harboring catholic sins
Sexual abuse in the community
It’s sad just what I know

Rapist and lies
Incest and drugs
I’m glad I left you all behind
With your toxic “Christianity”

On Old Lexington Road
I lived childhood.
And I left with no regrets
Y’all should have

Said goodbye
But you can’t now
