There was a moment in time
I believed in fairy tales
The lies we tell ourselves
That true loves ever meant for us
Innocent and doey eyed
And unable to believe
In true love crimes
I was
Alabaster
Porcelain
Unblemished
And breakable
Was who I was
Before life tarnished me
And now
I’m fragmented.
I stand a victim, the crime
Believing in love always fails
It’s a crime for the shelves
That matrimony is a must
Now I’m bitter and jaded
I can no longer receive
Love in these times
I was
Alabaster
Porcelain
Unblemished
And breakable
That’s now the past
Now ruined I can see
Just how
Badly dreams have lied
I could sit and wait and cry it out
While I’m waiting for someone to figure it out
That’s not my place not my game
As of now I’ll never be the same
I’ve waited forever for the one
But I see that hope is gone
I remember a time when because
I was.
Alabaster
Porcelain
Unblemished
And breakable
Was who I was
Before life tarnished me
And now
I’m fragmented.
That’s now the past
Now ruined I can see
Just how
Badly dreams have lied
