I’ve wanted so much from this

But like a beat in time 

It’s over

If we believed in true love

Really

We would have made it work 

Somehow 

But here we are now unlike before

Strangers

Or maybe that’s all we ever were

Separate entities 

Oil and water 

Fire and ice 

They say opposites attract

But do they need to repel 

Or destroy each other.  

I’ve wanted so much from this

The noise we made for us was

Foolish 

How we tried to make ‘em 

Believe 

The lies we told to comfort ourselves

Are out 

And let’s face facts we wasted time so 

It is what it is. 

Light and darkness

Pure and raw
