Mother (Bless You, I Love You)

The world isn’t worthy of you
Rags to mediocrity to some
Yet you emerged from the ashes
Without a spec of the past
I want to be like you when I grow up
I hope my genes fit that wish

You taught me not to wallow in self misery
It doesn’t do us any good
I’m a romantic and imaginative
Yet you kept one of my feet on the ground

To some you are my mother
If they knew your story
You’d be an inspiration
Bless you, I love you.

My worlds better because of you
Without your guidance I would be done
I know that you took your lashes
You give me something to last
I couldn’t ever repay you enough
You should know that’s my wish

You showed me that I could be myself despite the world
And you’d love me no matter what
Thank you for never giving up on me then
Even though I didn’t care you still did

To some you are my mother
If they knew your story
You’d be an inspiration
Bless you, I love you.

You’re my hero
My solid ground
When everything’s wrong
You’ll always be right.

To some you are my mother
If they knew your story
You’d be an inspiration
Bless you, I love you.
