Across the room

You were a million miles away

But I was drawn to you 

In the twilight 

And it’s amber hued horizon 

I don’t know what to do

Reaching out for

A chance with no reward still I 

Hope I don’t seem a fool

A rumbling in my gut

Like lighting struck too close

Who am I to think I can strike 

The seas are rough

In this ocean of life

The route is tough 

Along the roads of love

I just want safe 

Passage along the way. 

So in my eyes

I see nothing but the best chance

Of the dreams I once had 

And in the dawn 

I’d love you to be my first glance 

Every day I can wake 

You’re in the mist

Past a hazy Peripheral 

But your close to be known 

A shake that’s in my knees 

An earthquake in my core 

Bringing things up to the surface
