This Drive

 This Drive

I’m tired of life in the slow lane

I’m looking to switch gears

And see what I can

A trip of exploration.   Rain

Sleet snow or through some tears

To explore this man

In my rear view mirror I see you

I throw  hands to the wind and say goodbye

On the road I hope to find myself

If I don’t at least I can see the world

But let’s be real that on this drive

I won’t end where I started.

Further along I’ll move on from

Where I started and

Arrive somewhere new

I hear a new beat a new drum

A new place new land

A future that’s true

In my rear view mirror I see you

I throw  hands to the wind and say goodbye

In my journals are tales how I’m here

I question the route not destination.

On the road I hope to find myself

If I don’t at least I can see the world

But let’s be real that on this drive

I won’t end where I started.

In my rear view mirror I see you

I throw  hands to the wind and say goodbye

In my journals are tales how I’m here

I question the route not destination.

It’s foolish to ignore the reasons

Why I was there once but now I am here

On the road I hope to find myself

If I don’t at least I can see the world

But let’s be real that on this drive

I won’t end where I started.
